These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Aside Money mobile application (the “App”) and related pages on asidemoney.com. By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Aside Money lets you:
Bill data is stored locally on your device. There is no Aside Money account required to use the core App.
You must be old enough to enter a binding agreement in your country and able to use the Apple App Store or Google Play under their rules. The App is intended for personal, non-commercial use unless we agree otherwise in writing.
You are responsible for:
“Set aside” in the App is a planning status only. It does not move funds, reserve money at a bank, or change an actual payment.
The free tier includes core tracking with a limit on how many bills you can add (currently 5 free bills). Existing bills remain usable if a Plus subscription lapses; adding beyond the free limit may require Plus.
Aside Money Plus may include unlimited bills and other features described in the App at the time of purchase (for example richer reminder controls). Feature details can change; the App Store / Google Play product page and in-app paywall describe what you are buying.
Indicative pricing shown in product materials (for example about $1.90 / month or $19 / year) may vary by region, taxes, currency, and store pricing. The price charged is the price shown by Apple or Google at checkout.
There is no separate paid trial that silently converts; the free tier is available without a Plus subscription. We do not intend to charge you for Plus without a store purchase you confirm.
Because bill data lives on your device, uninstalling the App, clearing App data, device failure, or loss of the device can mean permanent loss of that data unless you previously exported a backup and can restore it.
We are not responsible for lost local data, corrupted exports, or files you stored with third-party apps or cloud services.
You agree not to:
Aside Money, including its name, branding, design, and software, is owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you. You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App as allowed by these Terms and the applicable app store rules.
Content you enter (your bill names, amounts, notes) remains yours. You grant us no license to host that content on our servers because we do not sync it to an Aside Money cloud.
The App may rely on Apple, Google, RevenueCat, and OS features (notifications, share sheet, file access). Your use of those services is also subject to their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party outages or policy changes that affect purchases or device features.
THE APP IS PROVIDED FOR PERSONAL ORGANIZATION AND REMINDERS ONLY. It does not constitute financial, accounting, tax, or legal advice. Reminder timing, totals, and “set aside” status can be wrong if your inputs are wrong or if a notification is delayed or blocked by the operating system.
Aside Money does not initiate bank transfers, card charges for your bills, or payments to payees.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE APP AND WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that reminders will always be delivered on time.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, MISSED PAYMENTS, OVERDRAFTS, LATE FEES, OR SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR PLUS IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50, EXCEPT WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your failure to pay real-world obligations that the App merely tracks.
Our Privacy Policy explains how information works with Aside Money. It is part of how we describe the product; if there is a conflict about personal data practices, the Privacy Policy controls for that topic.
If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us, not Apple, and that Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms solely for the purpose of enforcing Apple’s rights as an app distributor. Similar store rules may apply for Google Play.
We may update the App, free-tier limits, Plus features, and these Terms. Updated Terms will be posted at https://asidemoney.com/terms.html with a revised date. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notice you (for example via the App or website). Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance, except where local law requires otherwise.
You may stop using the App at any time and cancel Plus through the store. We may suspend or terminate access to paid features or the App if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the product. Provisions that by nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will survive termination.
Unless mandatory consumer law in your country says otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of Aside Money is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in that jurisdiction will have exclusive venue, except that you may bring mandatory consumer claims in your country of residence where required by law.
